More Engagement, Less Effort—Here’s How

Hi Reader,

A few years ago, I spent hours jumping between social media, email marketing, SEO—you name it—trying to "do it all." But no matter how much I posted or how many strategies I tried, nothing seemed to work.

Sound familiar?

Then, one day, I had a realization: I was spreading myself too thin. Instead of doing a few things really well, I was doing everything—poorly.

So, I hit reset.

I focused on what actually drives results—and ditched the rest. And guess what? Engagement shot up, conversions increased, and I finally stopped feeling overwhelmed.

Here’s what I wish I knew sooner:

1. Stop Trying to Be Everywhere

Pick one or two platforms where your audience actually hangs out. If you sell products, Instagram and TikTok are probably your best bet. If you’re in B2B, LinkedIn and email might be the way to go.

Not sure? Take a look at where your competitors are getting the most engagement.

Trying to do it all leads to burnout. Focusing on the right channels leads to growth.

2. Plan Ahead (So You’re Not Scrambling Last Minute)

Ever sat staring at your screen, thinking, What do I even post today? Yeah, me too.

A simple content calendar changes everything. Plan just a few posts ahead, and suddenly, social media doesn’t feel like a daily struggle.

(If you're interested in my simple Content Calendar reply with "Content Calendar" and I'll send it out to you)

And don’t make it harder than it needs to be. A single blog post can turn into an Instagram caption, a Twitter thread, and an email. Work smarter, not harder.

3. Automate What You Can

You don’t have time to be glued to social media 24/7.

Schedule posts in advance with Hootsuite, Buffer or any of the platforms. Automate email sequences with Mailchimp or ConvertKit. Use AI tools to help with captions, replies, or FAQs.

Marketing shouldn’t eat up your entire day. Let tech do some of the heavy lifting.

4. Track What Works & Do More of It

Throwing content into the void and hoping for the best? Not a strategy.

Check your engagement, clicks, and conversions. See what’s getting traction—and double down on it. If something flops, tweak it and try again. No big deal.

The best marketers aren’t always right. They just test, learn, and adjust.

5. Engagement Wins Over Everything

People don’t want to be marketed to. They want to connect.

Reply to comments and messages like you’re talking to a friend. Ask questions. Start conversations. Make people feel like their voice matters.

Followers don’t build businesses. Real connections do.

6. Keep Learning, Keep Experimenting

Marketing changes fast. Stay curious.

Try new formats—short videos, live Q&As, interactive content. Follow industry leaders, but don’t chase every trend. Test, tweak, and adapt. That’s how you stay ahead.

The Bottom Line? Keep It Simple.

You don’t need to be everywhere. You don’t need to post every day. You just need a system that works for you.

Focus on what moves the needle. Automate what you can. Show up, engage, and keep learning.

That’s it. You got this.

Got questions? Just hit reply—I’m always happy to chat.

Cheers,
Tristan

Influencer marketing still works (even on a tight budget)

Hi Reader, Let’s clear something up real quick: Influencer marketing still works. And you don’t need to drop thousands to make it work for you. In fact, if you’re a small business or running a D2C brand, the real magic right now is happening with micro- and nano-influencers, those creators with small but super engaged audiences on TikTok and Instagram. Here’s how to do it without draining your budget: Step-by-step, no fluff 1. Think small on purposeCreators with under 50k (or even 10k)...

Your email list isn’t dead, it’s just sleeping

Hi Reader, So, I had this moment the other day staring at my email dashboard, watching open rates slowly dip like a tired Wi-Fi signal. You know the feeling? You work hard on your emails. You write something you think is actually good, hit send… and nothing. It's like your list collectively decided to ghost you. But here’s the thing your subscribers aren’t gone. They’re just not listening right now. And that’s fixable. Let’s talk about waking them back up (without yelling in all caps 😅). 1....

The #1 reason they’re not buying (yet)

Hi Reader, You’ve done everything right—and still, they don’t convert. What gives? You’re running ads. Traffic’s coming in. Your product’s solid. But sales? Meh.
