Quit Overthinking Content—Try This Instead

Hey Reader,

A Three-Step Recipe for Building Content for your Personal Brand

This sneak peek is from our new upcoming Personal Branding Course. It Takes Two Brands to Succeed—Your Founder Brand and Your Business Brand.

In this email we outline the simple framework for creating content.

Let me show you how it works so you can do it too!

Step 1: Expansion Content

This is all about getting people to know who you are. You want to talk about topics that are popular right now because they grab people's attention.

Think about what's trending or what everyone is talking about in your area of interest.

Examples:

  • If you're into fitness, you might share tips on using new tech like ChatGPT to create workout plans. This connects your content to something people are curious about.
  • During the holiday season, you could show healthy recipes that fit the festive mood. This way, your content feels timely and relevant.

By doing this, more people will see your content and start to recognise your name.

Step 2: Credibility Content

This step is about building trust with your audience. You want to show that you know your stuff and can help them solve problems. Share valuable information and tips that people can use in their own lives.

Examples:

  • Create a guide for beginners on how to start a workout plan. This shows you understand their needs and can guide them.
  • Share a success story of someone you helped get fit. This builds confidence in your abilities and shows real-life results.

When people see that you know a lot and are ready to help, they will trust you more and listen to what you say.

Step 3: Connection Content

This is where you let people see the real you.

Sharing your own stories and what makes you unique helps others feel closer to you.

It's your chance to show your personality and what makes you different from everyone else.

Examples:

  • Talk about your own fitness journey, including the challenges and successes. This makes you relatable and shows you're just like them.
  • Give a fun behind-the-scenes look at your daily life or work. This helps your audience see you as a real person, not just a brand.

Sharing these personal stories, you create a connection with your audience.

When you put these three kinds of content together, you'll create a personal brand that people will love and want to follow.

It's all about being seen, trusted, and liked!

Can't wait to see what you create.
